It works the other way around too.

In Sweden you can buy a clear, but reflective, paint to cover you
license plates with. That way, when the iron-police (cameras on poles)
snap a shot at you, the flash blanks out your license plates and the
police don't know who you are.

I don't know ... it might be of the same quality as the
see-through-clothes-glasses you could buy from the inside cover of
comic books back in the sixties. But it apparently really works.
