You can pick up a nasty bug almost anywhere.

Two years ago good friends went to Paris. One contracted a virus of
some sort and, two years later, she's still literally bedridden from
it. She was a practicing lawyer and has had to give that up, she can't
read, she can barely get out of bed.

There are nasty bugs out there!
