We had 17,500 students at our college last August, and now we are at 8,000. That's actually pretty good, but we are getting many students from suburbs that weren't devastated. The French Quarter and most of the city adjacent to the river are in pretty good shape. But if you drive 3 blocks up Canal Street (toward the lake), the city takes on a ghost town look. I thought that you gave a very fair & balanced first impression. My experience is that there are a lot of Leica vs ZI comparisons & I'm trying to promote the idea that the ZI should be viewed through a different prism rather than as a poor imitation of a Leica. The Nikon FM2 is my best analogy right now. Yes, I absolutely agree with your impression of the shutter sound - somewhere between Leica & Bessa, but closer to a Leica. I'm sorry if I missed it, but how are things in New Orleans? It's one of my 2 or 3 favorite cities in the world. Are you familiar with the music of New Orleans resident Anders Osborne? I love his music. I hope to get back there one of these days. I'm hoping that there's a "there" to get back to. The country seems to have forgotten the Big Easy. Awfully short memories after the crisis is over & lots of distractions on the national scene from the most important things.
