No, my father was an Ohio businessman. He was born in 1882, worked in rag mills he was 8 or 9 stamping down the rags to push them into the rotary teeth of the shredder that would rend the fabric apart - and the kids if they got tired or slipped - which happened. Once, in the early 60s, I went with him to the tailor's in Cincinnati where "Nick" (the Italian tailor) did his work. The entire shop spoke Italian. Nick was a small, slight gentleman of impeccible manners and who moved alternately with a smooth casualness and then like a bird on speed. His clothes were gorgeous. I can remember the rolls of fabric, the huge cutting sheers. The building was in downtown Cincinnati and the windows were huge - before the days of air conditioning of course. Oh to have had a camera then because I remember the experience so vividly. Adam
