Lew -  I use iView for cataloguing my photos and it already uses the 
metadata.  I used Extensis Portfolio before I got iView and it uses 
metadata, too, but you don't get large thumbnails and it's not quite 
as efficient at searching and is not quite as fast at cataloguing as 
iView.  Some of the stock photo sites are warning not to use Windows 
version of metadata preservation because Macs can't read it and many 
graphics people use Macs.  There is a great site about using metadata
