What it is is pretty pathetic branding/marketing Adam, as Olympus and
Panasonic are partners, and Kodak and Leica are part of the "partnership" in
terms of shared technology. The mirror box and lens mount on the new
Panasonic, as well as the self-cleaning sensor technology, all come from
Olympus. The sensor itself comes from Panasonic, and is also in the new
Olympus body. I don't know whether Panasonic or Olympus actually came up
with the live view technology, but as the sensor for it is incorporated into
the mirror box, I'll guess Olympus - I may be wrong.

As to your thinking that it's branding because the Leica lens is bundled
with the Panasonic body...sorry, Adam, but given that Leica is pushing the
lens as a free-standing item, that makes less than no sense. Since they're
pushing the lens, they should be pushing it toward every body that will take
it. Marketing doesn't teach trying to reduce your market.
