I have followed the partially excited discussions on several Olympus and
fourthirds forums the last dayto use for the Oly and Sigma lenses). The 4/3
standard concerns lens mount, flange distance, sensor and some other specs,
but does not exclude proprietary extra features.

So far there seems to be no reason why it should NOT be 100% compatible. The
o.i.s. and the venus engine are completely built in the lens which should
allow to use it on other bodies. But as there is a electronic contact from
the lens to the body, a proprietary software barrier could theoretically be
implemented to deblock the o.i.s. on Lumix bodies only - with Leica you
never know. But even if, then a hack would be available within less than a
week.
