I can just lean my index finger on the shutter to trip it. I'll try your advice below as well. Back when I just used SLRs, they were big and bulky enough to inhibit most movement. By seeing the image your body will hold the view still. Doesn't really help if the subject moves but you can really hold a rangefinder very still in you concentrate on seeing the image in the viewfinder.
