Brian, just be sure you are comfortable with the formfactor of the
camera. It's big - you probably know this - so if you are not put off
by the sheer size of it - I think you'll like it. I know I like the
images my 1Ds makes - even if people make an incredible claim about
it's color looking "plastic" - which I don't understand but it's such
a prejudicial phrase that I think it tells a lot about the person
using it.

I find that reds are easy to blow out - so using the histograms when
setting exposure is really a very good idea.

I tried the Digilux 2 and once that damn digital viewer came up to my
eye I knew it wasn't for me.

I want the digital M.

I was shooting some of my "Game Day" project images down at spring
training a few weeks ago. People don't mind the M. In fact several
people showed me their digital cameras, told me they cost a lot more
than that little one I was using the M6, and then let me shoot away.
People were much more intimidated by the 1Ds so I simply quit using
it. However for sports it's a completely different game, of course.
