Flash needs a lot of raw processor power, runs fastest on Pentium IV above 2 GHz, and slower on Macs. BTW that was the other way round in the times of Apple's PowerPC 604 vs. Pentium I and II, but since Macromedia has optimized Flash for Intel (and Intel optimized the Pentiums III and IV for Flash), the Macs got significantly behind.
