Sonny's old apartment building was right next to the canal, on Orleans street, and it didn't get too much water. But Harrison Avenue was under about 8 feet of water, and my church near the corner of Robert E. Lee and Canal Blvd got about 12-15 feet. Unlike the lower 9th ward, the water levels rose very slowly, so the damage was all just flood damage. No breakaway barges in Lakeview. A couple look really old. Particularly liked #7. The shots of City Park (19, 21) reminded me of when I used to skinny-dip there as a teenager, in the lagoon toward the north end of the park. Fifty years ago! I lived in Lake Terrace then, about 3-4 blocks south of the lake. Any idea how that area fared in Katrina? -- Phil Swango 307 Aliso Dr SE Albuquerque, NM 87108 505-262-4085 _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
