I actually sent a full portfolio ahead of me going to NYC. I rang and arranged to go in to their gallery, but I had the distinct impression that I was wasting precious time ;-) They denied receiving the portfolio, so I had to re-do it. The message of "rejection" was pretty simple: no thanks good luck in essence. I'm not heart broken, but I have always seen Aperture as a more photo based group, which was perhaps encouraging and helpful. I was not necessarily expecting them to publish no holds barred, but I did think they might give some helpful advise: too much to expect I suppose. I have always paddled my own canoe, so the thought of doing a book myself holds some interest anyway, so thats my plan. 1. learn cs2 2. set up a nice template 3. find a reasonable publishing firm 4. make the books and offer them around the FOM2 participants. Oh I fogot to add: nag eveyone to sending a high resolution file of their images ;-) Cheers > In a message dated 4/17/2006 4:18:04 AM Central Daylight Time, > firkin@ncable.net.au writes: > Gene, your note reminded me that sitting waiting for me was your > submission safely arrived.
