Subject: [Leica] romanian rip-off?

I discovered this whole highjacking scam about six weeks ago when looking
for a Canon 200mm f/1.8L. Same deal: "Don't bid. Contact me directly at XXXX
e-mail address. Brand new with full warranty. Wire payment via Western
Union." Of course, the price was nearly irresistible--$1500 for a lens that
appeared brand new, even though Canon stopped production several years ago,
and would normally sell for $4000+.

I reported it to the e-folks. In short, they yanked the auction, thanked me
for bringing it to their attention and restated what we all know: if it
appears too good to be true, it probably is.
