Whilst donning flame retardant suit:
There are only a couple machines that make color prints Fuji and Noritsu and
really only one good paper Fuji Crystal Archive (lots of bad papers).
With a machine that is profiled the "exposure decisions are put in your
hands not the operators"
So actually the Costco printer with the Dry Creek Photo Profile
http://www.drycreekphoto.com/ for your neighborhood store is a very good
combination. You may upload to your store online but you have to pick it up
yourself.
They do offer a shipped version but this is done at a central location with
lots of printers and no way to specify the profile.
Remember that even the most expensive custom color printer will probably
have the same machine and paper so your paying for the operator, using
profiles eliminates this.
They are cheaper than anyone.
That being said, if you can't bring yourself to do this
http://www.whcc.com/ is great
