Subject: Re: [Leica] M8 WONDER MACHINE! :-) b.d. offered: >>Fine. But for serious work, for images you care about - shoot >>RAW and convert later. Tina said: > Ted - I agree with B.D. Always shoot RAW. You'll have a lot more control > over converting to B&W and can make better choices than the camera does > when it converts automatically. What's the estimated delivery date? I'm > ready to order one!<<< Tina & B.D., I know both of you are quite correct and I have tried to follow your directions each time you have offered and I just screw - up the corrections, go back and try it again with no better results and a greater degree of confusion. I suppose it's because of a learning thing I have : "Tell me and I will forget "Show me and I may remember "Involve me and I will understand "Confuse me... and I'm dead! What I really need is someone who stands here with a bat, then show me, involve me, make me do it over and over and if I'm still a klutz, they use the bat as a final teaching tool! Maybe the thing for me to do is shoot both JPEG & RAW settings on the important things and save both after editing in JPEG then I'm covered for future use. At least I'll be recording and keeping the best images in RAW. Then when I finally learn to do RAW conversions I'll be able to go back and do the keepers. Tina, sorry, no firm date for delivery but I understand as early as possible after Photokina. ted
