Naughty Richard for trying to fool the LUG. It's a reminder that looking at little low res jpegs on line is not very conclusive. I shot the Elmar M 90 and a Summicron and that Nikkor 105 (on an F2) side by side recently by chance. The Nikkor showed up very well. Not seen side by side with the Leica glass, I'd say it was great. I've also owned a number of Nikkor 50s. The latest(an AF) is on a friend's D70 now and it works well. That is of course unless you have the financial where with all to buy an M8 as well as the Nikon. Until one has the opportunity to use an M8, one might take some care at negative comments until they've had the experience of using it. Much like the many negatives made by members before they even had an R8 in hand they were shooting it down...... only to become completely blown away once they had time shooting with it. I fool you not at this point in time, the M8 is as much the classic as all the other M's. Now if you have no M lenses nor interest in shooting with one, fine! However if you are an M user and jumped to the Nikon it's possible you might be sorry you jumped a tad too quick. ted. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
