You know, no one who uses hyperfocal distance or DOF actually remembers the nos. We do it by looking at the DOF scale. The manufacturers know the numbers and mark it for us on the lens. We shoot when we think we have a picture. We don't compute numbers before we shoot. "Some of my lenses don't even have DOF scales. I never look at the ones that do." Such a pity. Leica shooters bemoan the lack of DOF scales on autofocus SLR lenses because it gives them no way to do hyerfocal distance focusing on the sly..., or to shoot landscapes with both foreground and background in focus.
