Hi Walt
It's true I never used this tripod for the Leica before. I bought it 
together with a 500mm T2/Nikon tele the other day, at the fleamarket (for 
the price of a beer and a sandwich), intentionally for shooting animals in 
the alps. I don't see another reason than lens testing for using a tripod 
with a Leica!

ps: I agree the use of a 500mm tele will let turn the poor Henri even more 
in his grave
