I understand what you are saying regarding only shooting colour when you think that it adds to the photo. That is a very pure photography way of thinking. You are in the right group for that. Also, I absolutely agree that projected Leica pictures are wonderful. I got a Pradovit and a colorplan lens just to look at my Velvia stuff. Regarding the scanning, I find it much harder to scan black and white really well compared to colour. Actually I get the best black and white results from converting from colour. This is really helped by the fine dye clouds instead of grain. But where's the fun in that? It is rewarding to process your own black and white negatives. I do scan though, because a print darkroom is just too hard for me to use enough to get good at it. Scanning and inkjet printing does require an investment in a good film scanner and printer for the best results and also needs learning, just like a darkroom. But once you have good equipment well set up you can make very good prints from scans, both black and white and colour. Would you like to swap a couple of prints? Grab me off list if you want to arrange something there. Nevertheless the few times I shot actually colour is when I think that only colour can tell me something different and better than B&W gives, but remember that in the Perpignan folder I have also the same lady with the mobile phone in B&W, maybe on this case colour is better. Thanks for looking and commenting, if you still hesitate if colour / B&W we can ask Tarek if the Lady is still in Perpignan and we can go to do some test in B&W and colour, and of course take a big beer. See that didn't hurt a bit shooting some colour, did it? Your MP didn't explode or spit out the film? Just to pick one folder as an example, in the Perpignan folder, I think that numbers 1 & 3 one really benefit from the colour as it adds a lot of warmth to the atmosphere. 5 & 6 are also given more atmosphere; In this case by the blue of the cool waters. On every folder the first ones are on colour: >From Perpignan (September 2006) http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=658853 >From Barcelona http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=495884 Miscellaneous and landscapes http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=554353 Thanks for looking and for your comments Saludos desde Barcelona Luis ______________________________________________
