More often than not it's the assignment we're working on that dictates which gear we use. If you don't have the necessary tools of the profession to capture the moments expected of you, it isn't long before you become a forgotten entity by editors and art directors. A carpenter has more than one hammer for his work as do dentists different tools for fixing teeth. And they have them irrespective of cost. We are the same. For example, I have 3 motor driven R8's and had 3 M7's or various versions of M cameras always at the ready just in case, whatever the assignment. They didn't replace each other but were often used all at the same time depending on the necessity of what the assignment called for. Or simply as support. Or shooting sports, the Olympics for example, the M's were rarely ever used as it was " long glass 99,9999999999% of the time." So was it wrong for me to spend the money for M's if not used during a 3 week period? Like I said before.... Our world is quite different than you imagine. ted
