Epson designed the electronic stuff, did the final assembling (where the often mentioned RF disalignement happened), the spotty QC and the dodgy support. It's not likely Epson would allow CV to re-release it under another name. I could wish an affordable Epson/CV R-D2 with 21-25-28-35-50 framelines (like the announced Bessa R4), the Nikon D200 sensor, an inbuilt grip (making space for a larger battery) and a strongly improved QC. But more likely is that CV has given up Epson and is planning a DRF together with Zeiss.
