I first crossed swords with Jim Brick around 1995 or so when I mentioned that I owned an Argentine Mauser rechambered in .30-'06. He then sent a detailed message to me, personally, detailing the many errors I had made, including the actual bore size -- I SHOULD have known, but did not then know, that the indicated bore size is generally an approximation, so that a .30" barrel will be something on the order of .308 and an 8mm bore will be 7.96mm or the like.
