There's a pretty healthy R-D1 community on RFf. I just bought my second R-D1. It is the only viable option for a digital rangefinder so far as I'm concerned. It is a sweet little camera and feels and handles more like an M to me then that other camera I am avoiding talking about. And, yes, the RF is sensitive. Yes, I can had to have DAG align one for me. (The R-D1 suffers from the same RF faults as the Voigtlander Bessa from which it was derived.) Yes, this is likely to happen again. Yes, Epson USA is completely ill-equipped (or unwilling) to properly support and service the R-D1. (Although parts do seem to be available -- I ordered an obscure little part from one of Epson's part's suppliers and had it in three days.) But all things considered, I love the R-D1. I have no regrets whatsoever. I may look for a third for parts if the prices continue to fall... The king is dead. Long live the king.
