Walt - I had the same experience with Kodak after they switched to
QualChrome or whatever it was called. I came back from a trip to Bolivia
and over 30% of the Kodachrome film was ruined with purple blotches,
misplaced cuts, and total screw ups. I also got replacement film and a
letter. I quit using Kodachrome after that. Digital is the answer and you
don't have to wait until you get home. I'm away from home now and I have a
small separate hard drive to burn all of my photos to or I could burn them
on a CD right here. I never erase a memory card until I have it stored in
at least two places. The M8 is fine, when you learn to use it, and that's
all I have with me on this trip :-)
