It's almost worth taking them to something like that to feel them
cling to you.

I've really come to love that part of Raleigh. A main street in
Raleigh was turned into a pedestrian mall 30 years ago. It became
dark and unused. They just reopened it as a street this summer. It
has much more pedestrian traffic NOW.

I love to go downtown (that dome behind the cane crew is the NC State
Capitol c.1833) and walk and talk and take pictures. 14 of this
year's PAWs have been taken with a few blocks of the cane crew. You
can see the Governor, a wino, school kids on field trips and clerks
on lunch break all milling around together.

The cane crew was taken less than 100 feet from the hot dog lady a
couple of weeks ago. I'm starting to feel like a member of the
neighborhood. It's getting less like shooting strangers now.

Thanks for looking.
