I just gave my father's wedding Rolex Oyster Perpetual (1948 vintage) for
some minor repairs and a CLA at a Rolex recommended shop in London. The cost
GBP 700. The first shock was that Rolex could not repair it as they said
they did not have the parts - I tried in Chennai, Singapore, London &
Geneva, and they all refused to touch it. I thought at this level of
purchase at least they would repair any watch they ever made - remember
Rolex has now a finite life in terms of parts. IMHO, Leica is much
better....BTW, Patek Philippe did a CLA of my grandfather's watch (1946
vintage) without a murmur.
Cheers
