Tina,
Nice phot. I had my firstlook and hands on with a M8 yesterday. It was one
of the new improved versions, and I have to say I'm in love with it. ;-) I
had no probelm with the thickness as it actually fit my hands quite nicely.
The new covering is the same as teh MP and I found it no worse than the MP,
which everyone thought it was a better grip than what is on the M6TTL and
M7. Personnaly I like the M6TTL covring better, but no biggie. The finder
is great with very bright fame lines. The images I took in the store were
great, and the menue very easy to work through. I did check the Magenta
thing, and yep it is still there, but not a problem with a filter or
hopefuly processing in the computer, as you have been doing with your
images. Sound. Not really a problem at all, just a low level buzz, or what
every you call it. I can very easily live with it. I WANT ONE!!!
Unfortunately the demounit was the only new one he had , although he had 2
Black original bodies with the pr
oblem boards if I wanted one of those, but I passed. They were also being
packed up to be sent back to Leica for the fix.

I also got a look at the Digilux 3, and I have to say I was impressed at the
finder, much better than I expected. It is at least as good as my D200
finder if not better. Overall a nice camera, and the price was $2400, lower
than I expected. They have them in stock, and with an adapter, R lens
compatible. Pretty cool.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a nice Christmas Holiday, and for those who do
not celebrate Christmas, I hope you ave a great end of year holiday!

Let's not bitch over the M8 after this post - OK? Enough is enough!

Gene
