The Leica M8 Technical Data says that a flash with SCA 3502 M4  
adapter will furnish M-TTL guide number control with metering preflash.

The SCA adapter on my 54MZ-4 flash is marked M2. I checked B&H and  
while their SCA adapter description makes no mention of the M4  
version, if you enlarge the photo the marking M4 is clearly seen. It  
looks like if I want to use my flash in TTL mode on the M8 I need to  
buy a new adapter. $93.95
