It is a very accurate shutter, working steplessly in A and P modes from 32s or 16s up to 1/8000s. With a synchro flash up to 1/250s (up to 1/300 on the Nikon F5). Which means that if in the A mode, the aperture set on the lens request a speed of 1/360, the shutter will provide it.
