It's center-weighted, but the photocell layout also weighs the foreground against the sky areas at the top. I guess that it's a form of matrix metering, but it's the best that I've used. Spot metering and multi-spot metering, which let me read and store up to five subject points and then have the camera compute and store an average, are also available but I rarely use them.
