Bob -  I had the same problem and have sent both the Noctilux and M8 
back to Leica in Solms.  They've sent me a loaner M8 and I'm using my 
slower 1.4 lenses while I wait for the Noctilux to come back.  Maybe 
if enough people send them back, they'll figure out there is a 
problem with the Noctilux on the M8.
