Subject: [Leica] Six-bit coding non Leica lenses
From: freakscene at weirdness.com (Marty Deveney)

After spending a few minutes yesterday with a Sharpie (permanent pen),
the template that's here:
http://www.digital-leica.com/lens_codes/template.jpg and the codes that
are here: http://www.digital-leica.com/lens_codes/ all my Leica lenses
are now read correctly by my M8. If you were going to code a Konica
Hexanon 50/2 for an M8, do you think that the code for the Summicron gen
III (11817) or the gen IV (11819, 11826) or maybe even some other 50mm
lens would work better? I haven't had the Hexanon long enough to be
sure. Or am I fussing unnecessarily and for this focal length it doesn't
matter anyway? Let me know what you think. Marty
