Didier
The standard Contax RF filter size was S40.5
(E40.5 in Leitzspeak), that is, a screw-in thread
of 40.5mm in width. The standard Leitz filter
size was E39 (S39 in Zeissspeak), that is, a
screw-in thread of 39mm in width. But both Zeiss
and Leitz used A42 push-on filters -- that is, a
push-on fitment 42mm in width. So, an A42
Contapol will work on E39 Leitz/Leica lenses, and
a Leitz/Leica A42 polascreen will work on a Zeiss
S40.5 lens. The Jupiters in both Contax and LTM
followed the CZJ sizes, as did the Helios.
