I have the .58 M7 which I consider the film version of the M8. AE is wonderful and gives you a very accurate, quick working camera. It is an electronic camera so I guess that gives it advantages and disadvantages. My MP is the .85 version. I think it's a wonderful, mechanical camera with a very accurate meter. I use it more when I use longer lenses. I consider it more like the M6TTL with the retro film wind lever and rewind knob. I also like the MP better then the M6 because to me the exposure arrows move in the correct direction when you adjust the exposure. I think it's personal choice which one you like the best but if I had to choose I would take the M7.
