That is the method with any corrective eyepieces I have seen on my older SLRs in the past. Good thing you didn't take the pliers to your M8! Now once you've tried it out, please let us know your experience using this magnifier on your camera. I had read in LFI that it is of great benefit from the 50mm lenses upward.
