However, since the 35 Pre-Asph 'Lux has no filter threads, you need the 12504 to mount a filter on it. Not sure why Leica designed it without a filter thread. Seems like a laps of brain function on the designer's part. ;-) Not sure why they made the hood so it rotates either. Love the lens though, especially on the M8.
