If you press with your nail a bit of exposed film it acts like if it was overexposed having a half-moon-like mark, I think this is about the same, which explains why it only happens on the end of the roll and with increasing intensity. Perhaps a difficult roll extraction, or anything like this, and it does not have to happen inside the camera. my 2cents.
