I wanted something very fast with a classic look, and affordable. Finally got one this week. At one-half stop slower than the Noctilux, half the weight, and one-tenth the cost, this may fit the bill. It's the Demi-Noct. Or perhaps the Serenoct, which can be short for both Serenar Noctilux or "Serenata Notturna." Dante's 50/1.2 posts of last week were very encouraging. Mine are more mundane, and I'm still learning to focus the thing, but so far, I'm feeling pretty good about it. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/pklein/album170/L1002212KatyaKitchen50-1_2-w.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/pklein/album170/L1002263KatyaRead50-1_2-w.jpg.html M8, 50/1.2 wide open, with IR cut filter. --Peter (who is not a Sveta, but maybe has a little Slava)
