Yes, but henna can cause life-threatening hyperbilirubinemia and  
anemia in children with G6PD deficiency...


secondary to hemolytic destruction of the infant's red blood cells,  
and production of bilirubin which in high levels is toxic...


there appears to be some literature on this...
