Jayanand,

I agree that the late model dedicated film scanners will give better 
results, but show me one for sale, including shipping, for less than $100US. 
For the images I want to preserve, this scanner will do just fine.  I have 
an early Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II that produces slightly sharper 35mm 
scans than does the Epson, but the images require more cleanup in PS.
