Later versions of the M7 used the upgraded finder that was also found in all the latter-day MPs, which has the problem corrected with improved optics. Of course, if you have an early M7 (or any M6) you can perform the upgrade yourself--stick a piece of semi-transparent Scotch tape over the light-gathering window, and flare problem solved. I used to have the serial number where the M7 correction began, but that's among the lost files of the Incas.
