[Leica] Help for my computer problem?

Hi All- On my Apple G4, the desktop is almost full with photo files, 
and the Hard disk is almost full. I have 2 external hard drives, but I 
cannot transfer to them - I get the following message when I try 
anything:

"You cannot copy some of these items to the destination because their 
names are too long or contain invalid characters for the destination. 
Do you want to skip these items and continue copying the other items?"

If I try to continue- then nothing happens - no files move to the 
destination. I know that my RAM is very low. I am not aware that the 
file titles are any different than the ones I've used all along. I 
tried to move these files to a DVD- but the DVD drive spits the DVD out 
without allowing you to do anything. TIA for some advice. Best, Stasys
