Hi Dick,

Thanksgiving has not penetrated the Continent, most Dutch people are  
completely unaware of it. The Butterball turkey was obtained in a  
special shop catering to the expat community.

The one American holiday that has become reasonably popular is  
Halloween, when a fair amount of trick and treating goes on in some  
places, including the Netherlands. However, some of the other  
associated traditions, such as egging cars, have fortunately not  
taken hold.
