I used to use Imageprint on an 1290 before this, and believe me, the ABW is as good. The only other thing I would advice you is, till you get used to the printer, use Epson paper, i.e. Enhanced Matte, Velvet Fine Art or Ultrasmooth for B&W printing - the profiles are easily available, and you can soft proof easily as well. Other manufacturer's profiles (Hahnemuhle, Innova, etc) have to be tweaked a bit for the 2400 in my experience.
