Personally I have to hand more than a dozen beautiful prints that I have made from files swapped with me by several talented LUG photographers. I have a least six more which I haven't managed to get to make prints from as yet, but the authors have their choices from my pictures on their computers and they also can print at their leisure. We are all satisfied that our LUG friends will not redistribute the files. That is purely on trust of course. The advantages to my mind, are flexibility, cost and speed of swaps (independent of international postal vagaries). The files swapped are much superior to lower resolution files suitable for on screen only. 4MB or so JPGS are perfectly suitable for the letter/A4 prints contemplated. Members can choose whichever printing method and materials suit them. Disadvantages are that you don't get nice prints in your hands made by the original owners, maybe with a signature and notes. You are offering a file which is then out of your control for future printing or manipulation by anyone who has a copy. You really need a shared gallery, which I think that you have agreed is possible. We shall have to see what the group consensus is, which I am pursuing off-list.
