I think that both cameras are superb ergonomically as well as extremely well put together. I wished that the viewfinders were less squinty. The auto focus requires careful pre-focus, locking then recomposing. I didn't mind that at all. I regard all three lenses as very sharp and great performers. In my opinion all of the G equipment is superb value on the second hand market. I finally sold all of mine to start with Leica M's Let us know how you go and share pictures Cheers, Geoff hoppyman@bigpond.net.au http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/a/ -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Jayanand Govindaraj Sent: Thursday, 29 November 2007 16:07 To: Leica Users Group Subject: [Leica] OT - Contax G1 I have been offered a Contax G1 with the 45mm Planar in very good condition. Has anyone had any experience with this outfit? The price is right - under US$200 - I have read mixed reviews of the body, but uniform raves about the lens, but I would like feedback born out of first hand experiences.
