Richard,
I have a slightly different take.  Use a rotary cutter to cut each sheet to
the length that you need.  If you cut a 44" roll into a 24" roll and a 20"
roll you will have tremendous waste.  But, if you want a 16X20 then you
would cut off what you need and have relatively little waste.  However, I
have had little luck running the scraps from my 4800 through my R800.  It
somehow knows that it is roll paper and not sheets.
