Subject: [Leica] Old computer monitors?

Hi All- I was thinking of getting a couple of old monitors- a lady has 
these 21" monitors (don' t recall the brand- but high end). They were 
used by her husband for digital darkroom work. They are probably 4-6 
years old. If they haven't been used for say 3 years - are they still 
quite good? I recall reading that the photons in monitors 
degrade/expire with age. Would that apply if the monitors have not been
