I believe that the panels are actually made by Samsung. Like Tina I find that it calibrates OK. With "brightness" on mine turned down to zero to adjust the luminance, mine is still 18% higher than ideal. However temperature is accurate and colour balance very good. (Gretag Macbeth Eye One measurements). There is some visible banding and some light fall-off dependant on viewing angle (as with almost all but the most expensive LCDs). Nevertheless I find it perfectly functional for image soft-proofing/editing and very good for all of my other computing uses. The widescreens are particularly useful with Photoshop when you have a number of palettes etc displayed. The Coloredge Eizos are the Leica Summilux 50 asph's of the monitor world, enough said. Cheers Geoff -----Original Message----- Subject: Re: [Leica] OT: Monitors - your preferences? Tina, I had to turn the brightness way down when I first set up my 19" Dell LCD. I have not touched it since that time.
