Subject: [Leica] What to use for concert photography?

I will be shooting a few taiko concerts officially. This means pre-
and post- performances (hope to get some good candid shots), shooting
from side of the stage and in front during performances. No flash of
course during performances. Currently, my longest lens is 90/2 M and
that won't work on the R-D1.

So I am thinking (for other reasons also) to pick up an Oly E-3. The
zoom lens should come in hand during the various composition
possibility of the performance. I think ISO 1600 should be sufficient
for F2.8 /3.5 shots. The noise on the E-3 seems ti be OK and the
in-body stabilization should help.

The other alternatives is to get a M8 and a 135mm, but a) it's way
too expensive, and b) I would probably need to put a wide angle lens
on the R-D1 to cover the other end, so it's definitely not as flexible.

Suggestions? Thoughts?
